Benchmark Landscape’s latest installation achievement is nearing completion this month.  This renovation project for BioMedical Realty is located off the Road to the Cure in Torrey Pines within a hub of premier biomedical research and development laboratories and offices.  On a bluff overlooking the greater San Diego area, this new landscape will boast a more sustainable design that utilizes drought tolerant plants, including several varieties of succulents, to replace many of the existing, outdated plant material.   Although much of the existing irrigation will remain, a drip type system, one that saves water and fertilizer by depositing water slowly and directly to the root of the plants, was incorporated in selected areas.  The landscape design at the site was provided by Van Dyke Landscape Architects, and the demolition and renovation of the landscape were led by Benchmark veteran foreman Aristeo Mendoza and Account Manager, Tom Tuba.
