After 25 years of commitment to the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA), John Mohns is being recognized as a Life Member of the organization.  As a proud and dedicated member of this industry association, John has shared with CLCA his passion for providing beautiful landscapes through professional service.  He has played many roles during his time in the organization, servicing as San Diego Chapter President for two years as well as Chapter President’s Council Co-Chair.  John has been very supportive of education, training and the Landscape Certified Technician program.  He also served as committee chairman for “Profit Through Learning: Your Training Toolbox” and trustee of the Landscape Educational Advancement Foundation (LEAF).  He was very instrumental in the development of the CLCA San Diego Chapter Calendar Sponsorship program.  John was named CLCA’s Member of the Year in 2002.

Shortly after graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture, John started Benchmark Landscape in 1984 with a vision to set the standard for landscape contracting in San Diego.  He has been successful as evidenced by the fact that Benchmark has won numerous beautification awards over the years.  Today, the company continues to build upon its reputation for quality, service and value as a provider of landscape installation and maintenance services. John feels CLCA both inspired and challenged him in many ways to build and operate a successful business.
