The Irvine Company has provided Benchmark with a unique opportunity in La Jolla’s University Towne Centre, at Executive Square and The Plaza. Logistically, this upcoming project presents several challenges due to the high traffic areas surrounding the properties, therefore a lot of the planting and landscape renovations will take place at night. Our team will be coordinating with MCTC for traffic control and the landscape architects at Burton Landscape Architect Studio throughout the duration of the project.

Landscape renovations will be completed in three phases with 1 and 3 scheduled to be done by September 2018 and phase 2 in 2020. Benchmark will be landscaping and irrigating the frontage areas along Genesse Ave from La Jolla Village to Executive. Project Manager Mark Lawless will be overseeing the estimated over $800,000 projects along with Assistant Project Manager Ryan Sresovich, Sales Manager Joe DeYoung, Foremen Ramon Ramirez and Armando Gonzalez, with split crews for night and day work. Night crews will be planting specimen trees and excavating and grading for the new soil import, while day crews will be doing layout, shrub planting, and irrigation work.
