Featured Fall Installation: Zura Hall
We’re proud to announce the recently completed landscape installation at Zura Hall of San Diego State University. Zura Hall is one of the original dormitories on the SDSU campus and was renovated to include a sixth floor green roof, outdoor gathering area for students with a fire pit, seating, and gaming tables.
As part of the renovation, our installation team, led by veteran foreman Sal Mandujano, working alongside Project Manager Mark Lawless of Benchmark, General Contractor Balfour Beatty and landscape architect Land Lab, incorporated a mixture of California native and Mediterranean plants with Seaspray paspalum turf areas, a salt and drought tolerant variety of turf grass. Irrigation is controlled through a Cal Sense Central Control system and the plantings are irrigated with below ground drip tubing while turf areas are operated with low precipitation rotary type nozzles.
The total cost of the project was estimated at over $600,000 and was completed in August. Another beautiful installation project for the Construction team at Benchmark Landscape, Inc.
