Dear Mr. Mohns,
The Landscaping project here is, at this time, almost complete. As is the case with many projects of this magnitude (for us, at least) they do not always go totally smooth. Considering everything, this went as smooth as it gets what with rain and late deliveries.
We feel the need to tell you that David Anderson, Juan Gutierrez, Sal and Luis and Victor did a SUPERB job making this project come together. There were at times other personnel here also, but the majority of the infrastructure planning, work and execution felt o these employees.
Sal and Juan were careful to avoid damage to curbs, parking areas and streets while working with the heavy equipment, and we are grateful for that. Not many equipment operators are that careful and considerate.
David was instrumental in advising on layout, plant choices and securing the decided-on succulents and in placing the landscape boulders for maximum aesthetic appeal; along with the actual placement of the plants on the three “vegetation islands” – and worked hard, with Juan, to keep moving the job along. His good advice and counsel is responsible for a truly beautiful transformation. Important because the majority of the elderly owners are from the Midwest – with their love of green lawns. It is a testament to his skill that the residents already are telling me how good it looks.
Luis (Irrigation) was thorough with the installation of the new system (drip irrigation) as well as the installation of control valves – and made sure it all looks good and works well. I do not believe I have ever seen an individual work harder or more carefully. Victor did most of the actual planting and did a careful job. Most of the Aloe are blooming already – much to our surprise and delight.
The Board of Directors, and I, felt we needed to let you and the rest of Management of Benchmark know that your personnel performed to an exceptional standard. My background is in Engineering and I can attest not many crews work as hard as the above mentioned employees. And like many engineers, I expect performance and if possible perfection.
They deserve to be acknowledged for their dedication to excellence, which will fall to Benchmark. All we, as your customer can do is let you know they did a GREAT job. And that it was noticed and appreciated.
I hope you can find the time to let them, as well as the rest of Management, know.
Sincerely,
J E. Sgambelluri, President
